Birchbox March 2016

Hey beauties, this month I decided to subscribe to Birchbox; firstly because I can’t really afford to spend money on products that I may not like, and secondly because I thought it was a good way for me to discover new products at a cost of £12.95 a month (including P&P). The boxes contain 5 to 6 products each month; some will be full size but generally they will be sample sizes.

What I liked about the sign up process was that I could somewhat tailor my box to my personal preferences so I would receive products that I could actually use.

So the first box I received was for March. My first box contained 6 products as listed below. NOTE: There is one product missing from the photo, the Rituals Foaming Shower Gel. It was too good and used it up within a week.

ARROW BOOST Colour Enhancing Lip Balm – £11.00
This was one of the full sized product I received in the box. This comes from a paraben-free, cruelty-free, vegan brand; so they’ve already earned a thumbs up from me. The lip balm is supposed to protect the lips and adjusts to your pH to produce a unique colour to each person.

Koreas Milk Proteins 3-in-1 Cleansing Emulsion – £15.00
This product is apparently suitable for all skin types. I get weary about products that claim to be appropriate for all skin types; I prefer to use products that target specific issues. This 3-in-1 cleanser aims to cleanse, tone, and remove makeup without irritating the skin. I assume that this would be a product I use before washing my face.

Jelly Pong Pong Lighten Up Brightener + Waterline £14.95
This was the second full sized product in the box. It’s a lightening pencil that can be used on the waterline to make your eyes look wider. I don’t like to use white/nude products on my waterline because I don’t think it suits me. However, this product can also be used to brighten up the area under the brows. I may also see if I can use it as a base on my eyelids, but it depends in the consistency.

Amika Nourishing Mask – £19.99
This hair mask focuses on sealing split ends and combating dryness using natural ingredients like sea buckthorn berry and jojoba oil. I’m exciting to use this because I have damaged my hair so much with bleaching and styling. Hopefully it will work on my hair.

Birchbox Accessories Hair Ties
I’m not sure what I can say about these, they’re cute hair ties. End of.

I’ve yet to try these products out but overall I’m happy with the range of products I received and I look forward to next month’s box.

Love Always,
