Birchbox April 2016

This month’s Birchbox featured a design by Rifle Paper Co. It was so pretty!! I was also impressed with the products it had inside

My box contained five products – a foot cream, eyeliner, liquid bronzer, leave in conditioner, and a face/body/hair oil. So a good range in my opinion.

Kueshi Foot Care Cream – £12.00
This foot cream aims to nourish the feet, keeping them smooth and soft all day with ingredients such as sweet almond oil and royal jelly. The cream is also made using tea tree oil to relieve your feet after the stresses we put on them each day. I have tried this out once and it made me feet feel so nice and smooth so I may purchase the full-sized product soon.

PARLOUR by Jeff Chasten Detangling Leave-in Conditioner – £17.00
I was happy to receive another hair product that could help with my dry, dead hair. This is applied just like any other leave-in conditioner and it claims to detangle the hair. This was another sample that I tried out as soon as I received it. Although it did help to some extent, it didn’t work as well as I’d hoped it would on the ends of my hair. I think I need to trim off my dead ends first and then try it out again. On the plus side it didn’t make my hair feel greasy.

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse – £17.00
Ok, so first off I LOVE using oils to moisturize my face. It’s given me everything that I couldn’t get from a cream moisturizer. So when I saw this face/body/hair oil in the box I opened it up straight away. Since I received the box I’ve been using this everyday as part of my night-time routine. I LOVE IT. Compared to other oils I’ve used on my face, this one doesn’t leave my face looking or feeling greasy at all and when I wake up in the morning my skin looks fresh and hydrated. The oil is made from a blend of six essential oils (including sweet almond oil and hazelnut oil), plant oils to repair the skin, and Vitamin E – which we all know does wonders for the skin. On a slightly negative note, I tried a small amount on my hair after washing it and in the morning my hair sill looked damp. The oil made my hair feel very greasy so I will only be using it on my skin, but I will definitely be buying this.

Benefit Dew the Hoola – £22.50
I was really excited when I found out this would be included in the box because it is the liquid version of Benefit’s bestselling Hoola bronzer. The product is supposed to blend into the skin seamlessly to give you natural glow without the shimmer. I was a little disappointed when I tried it out. Having darker skin meant that this product didn’t really show up on my skin because it is a little too fair. I will still play around with it to see if I can use it for something but I won’t be purchasing the full size.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner in Black- £11.00
This pencil eyeliner is supposed to produce a velvety-smooth, smudge-proof finish with long-lasting results. It’s a pretty standard pencil eyeliner to be honest. I have tried it though and it does glide onto my eyelids very easily and smoothly so it ticks that box. I don’t normally use pencil liner on my lids but I tried this one out and it performed ok but I think I’ll stick to using gel or liquid liners.

Ok, so that’s it. Again I’m very happy with the box I received – I’m not regretting this subscription so far so bring on May’s box.

Love Always,
