Hello beauties. I’ve been thinking about doing this post since I started this blog. It’s a collection of my ride or die products…if you hadn’t guessed from the title. These are the products that I use almost everyday and I love them. Here’s why.
What: Mario Badescu Drying Lotion and Buffering Lotion
Why: I’ve been using these products for a while now and they have really helped to clear up my skin. I use the Buffering Lotion every other night where I have some scarring from spots or when a spot is in it’s early stages and I use the Drying Lotion on specific spots that have already surfaced. These are sulphur based products; used as a mild antiseptic to disinfect the skin.

What: Farsali 24k Rose Gold Elixir
Why: I’d seen this time and time again on Instagram so I thought I’d look into it. Wow. I’ve been using this as my morning moisturiser everyday for the past couple of months and it is a game changer. It’s a gold infused oil which helps to regenerate tissue, reduce fine lines and hyper-pigmentation. This has really helped to brighten up my face and provide a gorgeous glow. This can also be used mixed in with foundation to make your skin glow, or as a primer before you apply your makeup. Although it’s a little expensive, you only need a few drops – I’m not even half way through mine – and it’s definitely a product well worth it’s money.

What: Carmex Lip Pot Original
Why: I think everyone knows how good carmen is. I use this every morning and evening after lightly brushing my lips with a toothbrush to get rid of dry skin. I then use the lip balm to help sooth and protect my lips.
Buy From: Boots – £2.69
What: Maybelline New Baby Skin: Instant Pore Eraser
Why: I always apply a primer before my makeup and this is one of my favourites. The silicone based primer really does minimise my pores and provides a smooth surface for makeup application.
Buy From: Boots – £7.99
What: YSL Touche Eclat Neutralizer – Apricot
Why: This is my favourite way to colour correct under my eyes because its a very lightweight formula that doesn’t look cake under makeup. I gently pat this product on with my ring finger until I’ve covered those unsightly areas. This is the only product I have found that does not leave my skin with a weird orange tint that shows up through my foundation. I love it. The neutraliser is also available in a violet and green colour.

What: L.A. Girl Pro Conceal – Creamy Beige
Why: I love using this to conceal and highlight in the usual places, especially under my eyes. It brightens up the target areas to make my face look more lifted and awake. I use a beauty blender to apply this before my foundation to avoid my makeup looking cakey and reduce any creasing that could occur.

What: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Why: I have never come across a foundation that I was 100% happy with until I started using this. This foundation is literally my favourite thing. It gives my skin such a natural and healthy glow – who doesn’t want that? It’s very lightweight, oil free, and gives a medium coverage, which is perfect for my skin. And for those days where your skin is messing you about you can easily build up the coverage without it looking cakey. I apply this with a beauty blender to make my skin look even more like a better version of itself. Although it is slightly on the pricier side, it is a foundation that I have no complaints about at all so I think it’s worth the money. My favourite part of makeup is the base. So it is really important for me to get that looking and feeling the best I can.

What: bareMinerals ‘Original’ SPF 15 Foundation
Why: On a daily basis when I am going to work I don’t necessarily like to use my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation because it is quite expensive and I feel it should be left for any occasion other than work. So on these days I like to use my bareMinerals powder foundation. It’s quick and easy to apply, lightweight, but still gives me the coverage I need. I also wear this more during the summer months because I have combination skin and can get a bit too glow-y during the day. The powder formula helps to absorb those oils so it doesn’t look like I can fry an egg on my face.
Buy From: Debenhams – £26.00
What: Mac Powder Blush – Sunbasque
Why: I love wearing this blush on a day to day basis because it adds the perfect shade and amount of colour to my cheeks. I’ve had this product for nearly a year now and it’s no where near half way through so you get a lot for your money too.
Buy From: Mac – £18.50
What: theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter
Why: Highlighting is my everything and this product gives me the ultimate highlight I’ve been searching my whole life for. It gives be such a beautiful glow without looking chalky or cakey. I use this everyday on the top of my cheekbones. A small amount goes a REALLY long way so it will take a long time to get through the pan. Again, you get a lot for your money.
Where: Superdrug – £17.49
What: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Why: I love to use this product to set my T-zone area, which can get quite oily due to my combination skin. I use this to set my highlight using the Real Techniques Setting Brush on a daily basis; and for those special occasions I use it with a beauty blender to bake under my eyes. This particular setting powder is of course famous when it comes to baking – and for very good reason. It is so finely milled that when you use it to bake, it doesn’t leave your face looking cakey – it gives your skin a soft focus quality.
Buy From: John Lewis – £29.00
What: Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder
Why: For those days when I’m in a rush, or I want to wear the minimum amount of makeup, instead of using a highlighter under my eyes I use a small amount of this powder to instantly brighten my under eyes. It works a treat.
Buy From: John Lewis – £19.50

Tools and Finishing
What: Beauty Blender – Pro, Red Carpet and Micro Mini
Why: I was pretty late on the scene when it comes to beauty blenders but I’ve not looked back since. These are amazing. I use the sponge damp to apply my foundation, highlighter, cream blushes and cream contour. I never get any streaks that brushes could give…it makes my skin look airbrushed.
Buy From: Beauty Bay – £13.50 to £16.00
What: Mac Prep+Prime Fix+
Why: The ultimate finishing setting spray. I swear by this product. It makes my makeup last all day and set everything in place so it doesn’t move. This is especially good if you use a lot of powder products; it will add moisture back to your skin, removing any cakey looking makeup.
